For owners and chief executives of UK businesses

Ask ChatGPT who the best firm in your sector is.
See whether it says you.

If it does not, that is not a marketing problem you will hear about. No enquiry arrives. No one tells you they went elsewhere. The pipeline just runs thinner, and every explanation you reach for sounds plausible.

Try this before you read another word

Thirty seconds, and it costs nothing

Open ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Mode in another tab, logged out, and paste this in. Swap the brackets for your own.

Who are the best [what you do] companies in [where you work]? Give me three and say why.

Most owners running this for the first time are not named, and find a competitor named repeatedly. Usually not the competitor they expected. That is the problem this product solves.

What has actually changed

The shortlist got shorter, and someone else is writing it

For twenty-five years a search engine handed your buyer ten options and let them choose. Your job was to be somewhere near the top of that list, and if you were, you got a share of the attention.

That arrangement has ended for a growing share of searches. When somebody asks an AI assistant which suppliers to consider, they do not get ten links. They get an answer. Usually three names, sometimes fewer. The comparison work that used to happen in your buyer's head now happens inside the machine, and the machine shows its conclusions rather than its workings.

Your business is either in that answer or it is not. There is no page two.

Here is the part that makes this a leadership issue rather than a marketing one. Losing a pitch leaves a trace. You get a no, and you learn something. Being absent from an AI answer produces silence, because a buyer who never heard of you does not send you an email explaining why.

The evidence, and where it comes from

Four numbers from people with nothing to sell you

Most writing on this subject is produced by companies selling the software they are recommending. These are not.

8% vs 15%

Share of visits that produced a click on a search result, with an AI summary present against without one. Only 1 per cent clicked a link inside the summary itself.

The guide

The AI Visibility Audit

Thirty-three pages in plain commercial language. How these systems actually pick who to name, the five links in the chain, and a chapter on what is being sold to you that the evidence says does not work. Every claim carries its source.

33 pages · PDF · about 90 minutes to read

The workbook

The scoring workbook

Twenty-five checks across nine tabs, with the scoring built in. You enter a number from nought to four and it calculates your score, names your weakest link and tells you which band you are in. Includes the visibility test log and the ninety-day tracker.

Excel · 9 tabs · scores itself

The prompts

The prompt pack

Sixty questions to put into ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode, grouped by buying stage: discovery, shortlisting, pricing, objections and reputation. Plus the competitor protocol, and the fifteen-prompt monthly test.

60 prompts · PDF · 15 marked as core

The tool

The Citation Chain Scorecard

The interactive version. Answer twenty-five questions and it returns your score out of a hundred, names the link holding you back, and gives you the three actions that move it. Nothing leaves your browser.

Web · about 15 minutes

The method

The Citation Chain

Five links, worked in order. A chain rather than a checklist, because that is how it behaves. If the machines cannot reach your website, nothing else you do matters.

So the score multiplies rather than averages. A business scoring well on four links and nothing on one is not eighty per cent visible. It is invisible, and it has spent money on the wrong four things.

  1. 01

    Access

Can the machines reach and read you? This is where most businesses are broken and do not know it. One check here takes four minutes and is the highest value four minutes in the product.

  2. 02

    Authority

Do you rank in ordinary search for what your buyers ask? Three quarters of pages cited in AI answers rank in Google's top ten. This link tells you whether you are being sold a new problem or an old one in new packaging.

  3. 03

    Answers

Can a machine quote your website? Most company copy fails here for one reason: it is written to persuade rather than to inform, so it contains nothing that is checkably true.

  4. 04

    Advocacy

Does anyone discuss you anywhere but your own website? The link most owners have never considered, and the one that puts a hard ceiling on everything else.

  5. 05

    Accountability

Can you see any of it happening? The tools are mostly free, launched in the last eighteen months, and almost nobody has them switched on.

Why this one and not the others

Three things this product will not tell you

Almost everyone writing about AI visibility sells the thing they are recommending. I sell a forty-nine pound product and my time, so I can afford to tell you where not to spend.

That AI has killed Google

It has not. Google still holds over ninety per cent of search, and the much-quoted Gartner prediction of a twenty-five per cent collapse in search volume by 2026 simply did not happen. Your ordinary search performance is close to a precondition for being cited at all. Anyone telling you AI search has replaced SEO is describing a world that does not exist.

That you need special AI schema or an llms.txt file

Google's own documentation states there is no special structured data needed for AI Overviews. Ahrefs tracked 1,885 pages and found citations fell by 4.6 per cent on the ones that added it. No major AI platform reads llms.txt, and server logs show they do not even request the file.

Both are being sold as deliverables right now. If they are on a proposal in front of you, that tells you something about the rest of it.

What this is costing you in revenue

Nobody can calculate that, and anyone who hands you a figure has invented it. You will find no revenue-at-risk calculator here, no countdown timer and no manufactured scarcity. The case is the evidence or it is nothing.

Before you buy

Who this is for, and who it is not

Buy it if

  • You own or run a business and you sign the marketing invoices.
  • You have been pitched AI visibility services and cannot tell whether the pitch is real.
  • You want to understand the problem yourself before you spend anything on it.
  • You are willing to give it one afternoon. Reading it without running the audit is a waste of forty-nine pounds.
  • You would rather be told what not to buy than sold a package.

Do not buy it if

  • You are an SEO professional. You will know a good part of this already, and the honest answer is that the Access chapter is the only bit likely to surprise you.
  • You want somebody else to do the work. This is a diagnostic you run yourself.
  • You want a guaranteed position in ChatGPT. No such thing exists, and I explain in the guide why anyone promising one is describing something that cannot be delivered.
  • Your website ranks nowhere in ordinary search. Fix that first. This product will tell you the same thing for forty-nine pounds.

Who wrote it

Ade Ajayi

Fractional Marketing Director. Previously Nestlé and Ringier Africa.

I am a Fractional Marketing Director. I run marketing for businesses that cannot justify a full-time director, which means I spend my week inside other people's numbers and other people's agency invoices.

Before that I was Head of Digital at Nestlé across twenty-five countries, and Director of the Academy at Ringier Africa across six markets. Fifteen years, three continents, and a fairly low tolerance for marketing that cannot show its working.

I built this because I kept being shown AI visibility proposals by clients who had no way to judge them, and because when I went looking for something honest to hand them, it did not exist. What existed was software companies explaining why you need their software.

Every statistic in the guide is sourced and dated. Where a study was funded by a company selling in this field, the guide says so, including where it supports my argument. Where the evidence is thin, it says that too.

No risk to you

Thirty days, no questions, keep the files

If the audit does not tell you something useful about your own business, email me within thirty days and I will refund you in full. You do not have to explain why, you do not have to send anything back, and there is no condition hidden further down this page. That sentence is the whole policy.

Before you decide

Questions people actually ask

The objections a business owner raises, rather than the ones a marketer would.

I am not technical. Can I really do this myself?

Yes, and that is the point of it. The most consequential check in the whole audit is reading one small text file on your own website and looking for five specific words. I show you exactly where it is and what to look for. Two of the twenty-five checks need somebody who maintains your site, and for those the guide gives you the sentence to send them.

How is this different from an SEO audit?

It overlaps, and the guide is honest that a good part of AI visibility is your ordinary search performance. Where it differs is the other half. AI answers lean heavily on what other people say about you, on review platforms, trade press and community discussion, rather than on your own website. That is closer to public relations than to search marketing, and no SEO audit will look at it.

I run a small local business. Does this apply to me?

Yes, and arguably more. The technical checks are the same at any size, and the evidence suggests smaller businesses have more to gain, because generative engines do not weigh backlinks and domain age the way traditional search does. The prompt pack has a local section built in.

How long does the whole thing take?

About ninety minutes to read and one afternoon to run. The fixes vary. The technical ones are usually minutes to hours. The content work is a week of somebody's attention. Building an external footprint is a year, and the guide says so rather than pretending otherwise.

This field moves fast. Will it still be right in six months?

Parts of it will not, and the guide marks which parts. It is built on mechanics and evidence rather than tactics, because mechanics last and tactics rot. Where something is true as of now rather than durable, it says so. Buyers of this edition get the next one at no cost.

Is this a funnel into hiring you?

There is a page at the back about working with me, so it would be dishonest to say no. But the guide is built to be useful on its own, and it tells you plainly when a problem does not need outside help. Two of the five links are things you fix yourself in an afternoon. I would rather you fixed them and remembered where you got the idea.

What exactly do I get, and how?

Immediately after payment you get a link to download the guide as a PDF, the workbook as an Excel file and the prompt pack as a PDF, plus the link to the scorecard. There is no login, no drip feed and no course platform. The files are yours.

Can I put this through the business?

Yes. You get a receipt at checkout that your accountant will accept. If you need an invoice made out to a company name, reply to the receipt and I will send one.

You already know whether it named you

You ran the prompt at the top of this page, or you did not. If it named a competitor instead of you, that is not going to correct itself, because nothing about it is visible from the inside. No enquiry fails to arrive loudly.

Forty-nine pounds and an afternoon tells you which of the five links is yours, and what to do about it before the next quarter.

One payment, no subscription. Thirty-day refund, no questions asked. Next edition included.
